Chimerastar (Chim): Cleaver
Chim has always been thin, the flesh boiled off his bones until his skin hangs loose and limp, and the traveling life has not served him any better. Food is scarce and difficult to find when you're constantly living in the fridges on unexplored clan territory, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
He used to believe it was a mistake that such a colossal failure, a shameful screw-up, could end up the leader of a clan. His whole life had been one mistake after another compiled into one large disaster… and yet he had lived on, clinging to the hope of a better life. He could never repay Violetstar for pulling him from the depths of his despair and giving him purpose, claiming he was special and leading him on to greatness. It was a sweet thought, that he might have a destiny, but one he never believed; one he still doubts to this day, despite evidence to the contrary. He's been told his life has a purpose -- that he lost his eye only once he proved himself capable, so he could see the way forward; that the ripple cough was an omen, that it wasn't an accident he was the only cat to catch it and survive only to die when it returned; that the flood that destroyed his clan was not his fault but another warning for the larger disaster headed his way, paired with the cough for emphasis. Looking back he can draw the connections, see a celestial paw shaping the events that made him…. but how can he fully invest in the idea he caused all that suffering? If he had read the signs, would he have known? Who can truly say they were meant for him? The prophet told him he would rule again after his exile, and so he does, and that is enough for Chim. He doesn't need a divine life, just a happy clan, and he is grateful and relieved to see his family safe and settled at the end of each night. Perhaps it was paranoia that drove his new habits within the clan, to focus on movement and change and communication, to help the frail and the weak and the injured find a new purpose, but he can't say he gives a rat's tail.
Proud and ornery as ever, he has a lean hunger-pang frame and his bones, fighting for freedom against his skin, are nearly as sharp as his tongue. Time has not tempered his wit or his sarcasm; his heart may be gentle but that doesn’t mean he acts like it. Cats called him handsome before, though he can’t imagine anyone thought the gaping crater on the right side of his face was attractive to look upon. He used to claim it was his good side, that the ugly mass of scars masked the bitter grief. He still does not believe himself to be handsome, but at least he smiles on occasion, and the bitterness has softened to fondness. Cats see him and they think he’s serious and harsh and immovable— and they aren’t wrong, but he has a warmth inside too that he’s learning to let out. His family saw it, his friends, even his apprentices, but now he trusts his clan to feel his joy.
Chim named SwiftClan, he build it from the ground up, and he knows every cat within its ranks intimately. He trusts because he knows everyone close to him. Once, he feared no cat would dare follow him, not after he failed and destroyed his old clan, and yet he isn’t alone. Chim will never understand how he can be so unlucky and yet the luckiest cat in the world at the same time, but he is extremely grateful for every cat at his side. Too gruff to say it out loud, but appreciative all the same. He has never been a fan of cats that command power, and wandering nomads are even more difficult to keep track of and command. Chim is perfectly fine with that, less centralized power suits him anyway, and he trusts his cats to take care of themselves without his governance. Instead, he walks among his cats and greets them and welcomes them, celebrates their lives and consoles their hardships, encourages their growth in his one no-nonsense way. He has never believed he’s charismatic and has always struggled to interact with everyone else, but somehow, they find the patience for him. SwiftClan is not just his friends, they’re his family now, and he will protect them at all costs. They’re all he has left.

Beestar: cookie
Beestripe is a dark gray and black tabby tom with pale green eyes. He is fairly large and very muscular. Originally from SpringClan, the tom fell in love with a loner cat and left to be with them. The two of them realized how difficult it was to live on their own, and Beestripe tried to convince her to return with him to his old clan. His mate was concerned that they would no longer treat him the same, so Beestripe found SwiftClan - a place where no one would know them. Beestripe is loving and strong. He is incredibly understanding and has a soft spot in his heart for younger cats. His biggest downfall is that he will always place his mate and friends before whatever clan he resides in, and this could prove detrimental if he ever had to choose between protecting her or the good of the clan.

Cradlegrave: biyuu
A short-furred, dark ginger and white tom with inquisitive amber eyes. Originating from a harsh, lawless settlement founded in a faraway desert, Cradlegrave grew up to become one of his village’s enforcers; eventually his wanderlust got the best of him, and he left the settlement to try his hand at bounty hunting. His talent at tracking and his single-minded determination were great assets to him in his career, and eventually his name became synonymous with death across the land. But all dreams have to end sometime—when Cradlegrave returned to his settlement one day to visit his family, he found them under attack by Twolegs. Despite his attempt to drive the Twolegs away, he and his entire settlement were wiped out and taken away in their monsters. After travelling for quite some time, Cradlegrave was able to escape the Twoleg’s grasp, yet he had travelled so far that returning to his homeland ever again would likely be impossible. Resigning himself to life in the forest, he joined up with SwiftClan, being drawn to their nomadic nature. Cradlegrave is discomfortingly quiet yet wears his heart on his sleeve, having lived so long on his own that the idea of a Clan looking out for its members has not come naturally to him. However, SwiftClan’s close-knit nature and small ranks mean that he is slowly getting more used to the idea. He doesn’t bother sugarcoating his words, but rarely aims to be unkind. The time he spent working alone as a bounty hunter has resulted in his social skills atrophying, and he struggles with small talk and friendly conversation. It also gave him a healthy dose of paranoia, and even though he’s a hundred miles from the desert he made his name in, he’s still half-expecting one of his many enemies to chop off his head in the dead of night. He harbours a hatred for Twolegs due to the destruction of his home, and will prioritise taking action against them over his Clan duties if the opportunity arises. As a newcomer to the forest, Cradlegrave is still adjusting to his new life—he especially has trouble to adjust to the colder climate, and sometimes struggles with Clan concepts like kittypets and the warrior code. Since settling in SwiftClan, Cradlegrave has found himself somewhat disillusioned with his former life of violence and paranoia, and now attempts to de-escalate situations he may previously have escalated.

Heavypetal: complacentdevil
An impending tom with a quiet demeanor, everything imagined about this cat seems to be the contrary. He shows little emotion, his face a blank slate, with a tongue that shares few words. He came to his clan in the middle of the night, slipping in with no fuss or fury, simply following the steps of those around him, doing as the do when they do, providing his keep as the rest. His past he keeps quiet, and when sharing only speaks of his life time while with his newfound clanmates. His faded yellow eyes betray little either, well guarded against those who would use it against him. He keeps to himself while attending his dues, quiet as always, only noticeable by his large stature and pretty silver coat, slivered through by a grey the colour of stone, his large paws white as snow, all well kept by his immaculate grooming. He proves to be quite the hunter despite his heavy steps, and is an avid fisher when the sources are available. These seem to be the only activities he doesnt mind sharing the work over, and is happy to have the company of another cat during any of his outings, even if he doesnt vocalize it.

DEPUTIES
February 8, 2020 - May 15, 2020
Crypticember (Cimber): Cyanide
A pretty boy. That's what most would see him as at first glance, and probably second as well unless the cat in question wasn't very astute. This tom's wide shoulders and well built frame are pretty to look at to say the least, add on that his ginger and white pelt and dark amber eyes he's pretty much anything a cat could ask for. But with beauty comes trouble. It comes when you delve a little deeper. He knows he's pretty and this makes him vain, to say the least, and a chronic flirt at his very worst. He doesn't really understand boundaries and personal space but that’s not so uncommon as it used to be. Everyone knows everyone’s business these days. What really makes him dangerous is his lack of control when it comes to his impulses, which is lightly exhibited in his flirting and more so in his rash decision making. This hasn’t deterred him however, having spent time as an Absum Lux general before ‘retiring’ to the city. However, the plan to live out the rest of his life there was squandered by the sudden presence of the league. Cimber made a run for the hills.. well for the forest at least. He linked up with a small band of cats that were just starting out as a new clan, Swiftclan they’d called themselves. He hadn’t had a place to go so he’d hung around. He hadn’t expected himself to become.. happy? Enjoying his new life with his new family but moons later he still found himself with the group. Finally finding a place he was proud to call home.

MEDICINE CATS
January 30, 2020 - September 14, 2021:
Firetooth: GidgetGal
Put bluntly, he has an antagonistic relationship with authority - and often he is that authority. Shoulders broad and square, hard and unforgiving eyes that aren’t often seen with a smile, he has the chiseled look of a cat in charge, but the defiant spark of a rebel against his own importance.
As a kit he dreampt to be of his father's mold - a fierce and dedicated worker for his clan, that would sacrifice it all for the safety of any individual faced with injustice - and with it came a sense of destiny and greater importance. He, too, would be a commander; he would become the cat calling the shots, and he would not stand idly by and let things happen. It was with this goal at the forefront of his mind that he began his training. Firetooth worked hard to become the very best. He tussled with his siblings and hung onto every word of his father's stories; he assured himself with the powerful blood imbued in his veins. Not once did it occur to him he didn't know what he wanted.
But as his apprentice ceremony drew near, everything changed: Solsticestar announced to the clan that he had been chosen to be Earthclan's newest Medicine Cat. At first, he rebelled; refusing his destiny, hating it with every fiber of his being, and fighting against it with all the raging hot blood within him. But the leader was a feisty cat herself, matching his quick-wit fire to fire, refusing to give up on him in spite of the odds; earning his begrudging respect. Eventually a situation forced him to be put on the spot; saving the life of a young cat without the guidance of his mentors. It was the moment that finally opened his eyes. For the first time, he really felt like he had found himself. He was the defender of his siblings and younger cats, striving to reach the same heights as his father, to work just as relentlessly so he could in turn help the youth of the clan. Of course, that didn’t mean he was going to change his attitude while doing it.
Quick to annoy, short-tempered, bitter, sarcastic, and unapologetic, he can be near impossible to work with at times. He isn't the type of cat that can be confided in - he won't share what he's told, but he'll flat-out admit it's a dumb concern to have or a harebrained secret to keep. He strongly believes in loyalty to the clan and the warrior code, and his faith has yet to be called into question. Even when his hot-blooded temper rears its head, he wouldn't even consider striking a clanmate, only snap at them a bit. Firetooth is gruff and he would never admit it, but he cares deeply for his apprentices and the youngest members of the clan.
He is a warmonger when it comes to any transgressions against them, and would not hesitate to invoke a battle between the clans if anyone mess with the members of his clan that can't defend themselves. Truth be told, Firetooth thrives in war. He is everywhere he is needed, fierce and unchanged, determined to set things right. When his blood is running, he is alive. Firetooth is a ginger tom with a white jaw and paws, and green eyes. He and his siblings, Pondberry, Ripplewish, and Airecho, were born to Breezestep and Creekghost - the daughter of two she-cats and the cursed son of a medicine cat, both with strong relations to leadership.

September 14, 2021 - January 30, 2022
Fawnpelt: Jadie
A pretty taupe she-cat with frosty blue eyes. Her fur is fluffy and soft as satin with a lacey white dappling along her back. Fawnflight is very delicate, thin as a rail with long-legs and a narrow face, some would say a strong wind could knock her over and to some extent, it’s true. Born with an incurable heart condition, Fawnflight has always been of frail health. Whenever her heart begins to beat quickly, it isn’t able to keep up with the demand of her body causing her to have fainting spells. Afraid that one day her heart will just stop completely, steps have been taken to keep her as calm as possible. As a young kit she was very spoiled by the adults of the Clan, giving into her every whim to keep her from becoming too upset. She was treated as a proper princess, but much to her disappointment that also meant being excluded from the games that other kits would play. Fawnflight grew into a rather well-mannered adult although sometimes she still gets frustrated if other cats don’t give in to her requests. That being said, most cats regard her as very sweet. Since Fawnflight can’t serve as a proper Warrior, she spends her days preparing meals for her clanmates, keeping their nests clean and pristine and caring for her siblings who suffer different but equally debilitating health conditions.

February 2, 2022 - Present
Straybullet: biyuu
A brown-ginger tabby tom with pale green eyes. A distant cousin of Cradlegrave, who grew up in the same desert settlement. While Cradlegrave was a bounty hunter who stayed away from home, Straybullet worked as an assistant to one of the ranch’s medics. When the ranch was destroyed by Twolegs, Straybullet was able to escape on his own and eventually found his own way to the forest. He's a pretty average kind of guy. He is not Cradlegrave in disguise.

MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICES
April 16, 2020 - July 19, 2020:
Mistralpaw (strike): luciferin
What does a cat that ate the canary exactly look like? Perhaps, something akin to Mistralstrike. The corner of her mouth is perpetually turned up in a half-smile, her eyes always have a glint of mischief, her tail flicking just too much. Mistralstrike is, much like her name, a storm that blows in and brings with it much chaos, but also much beauty. Named for the cold leaf-bare storms like the one she had been found in, the she-cat is not frigid like one much assume but instead coy and reserved, always observing but rarely interacting. This attitude lends itself to her perception as an arrogant or rude she-cat, but that is not the case. She simply prefers to watch and wait for the perfect opportunity to pounce. Her siblings were found alongside her in SwiftClan's leaf-bare territory by Heathersong, a she-cat she adopted as her mother. Her siblings, Flurryshake, Tempestsky, Galestep, and Vortexsong are all her dearest friends no matter what kind of scuffles or arguments they get into. She knows, that if push comes to shove, they will have each other's back. She has never known anything but SwiftClan, one of the few cats that can boast such a claim, but because of this she has a creeping sense of curiosity about what the rest of the world might be like. She hears that other clans do things entirely differently like learn how to fight or dig - dig! What kind of cat needs to dig? Her curiosity is one of the few things that can force her to shed her mien of dispassionate observation, though it often leads to her leaping head-first into trouble, heedless of the consequences.

Meadoweyes: Ash
For so long, she had wandered the lands in search of a purpose. A reason to live, a reason to smile. Life was not as she expected it to be, but despite what life had thrown at her, Meadow had always kept that shine to her eyes. She was born to one of the last leaders of WaterClan. Her mother was betrayed and overthrown by her father, and Violetstar was doomed to join StarClan as she brought her kits into the world. Meadow was raised mostly by Chimerastar, who would say often that she was much like her mother. An annoyance in his fur, but it was clear the way he would look at her that Chimerastar held Violetstar dear to him. Meadow was told many stories about the leader that Violetstar had become, and she held those close to her heart. As she grew older, eventually the tortoiseshell feline would venture off on her own. Meadow spent many moons trying to find herself, but eventually she found her way back to SwiftClan. It was the closest thing she could ever call home. Now her violet eyes shine brighter than ever as she finds a new purpose to serve her clan. With a smile, this bright feline will do her best to keep her clan happy and healthy.

Clan Info
SwiftClan is semi-nomadic and change camps every season, rarely settling in the same place twice, though they do keep near the other clans so they can trade with them. After the destruction of his old clan their leader decided it was folly to stay in one place and never experience other lifestyles. They do not set down borders but hunt close to camp and avoid invading the borders of the other clans. Moving around keeps any natural distasters from having as strong of an impact on them as the other clans, though it comes with its own costs. Communication especially is a large issue for the clan because their cats wander so far in search of food, so whenever SwiftClan settles they build rock cairns to guide the path to their camp and signal emergencies. SwiftClan prefers to settle near water sources when possible, mostly for convient access, but also because their cats tend to have an affinity for fishing and swimming.

During the winter they often return to a small section of the old WaterClan territory. The rivers are no longer obstructed, and the silverpath (train tracks) nearby tends to keep away any curious clan cats. SwiftClan doesn't mind the trains, and the familiar territory is a welcome reminder of a lost home.

SwiftClan is strongly family-oriented and has close bonds between cats. Their lifestyle cannot support a large group, so it tends to attract tight-knit families. The clan was created with this in mind - it was named for the founder's father and the family he represented (and serves as a memory of the families that died of a fatal cough alongside him). SwiftClan was founded only recently, after the destruction of the leader's old clan and his exile from his second home. The founder journeyed to the FallClan but did not find them suitable, and accidentally attracted a new clan to live with him. They are fiercely indepedent cats when it comes to the other clans, however: though they rely on them for occasional trade, SwiftClan cats are also keenly aware of their few numbers and vulnerability. They are friendly to roamers, but groups intimidate them.

Due to the clans nomadic nature, each cat has few possessions to their name. They forage for what they need in the moment and rarely carry anything from camp to camp. The few possessions that cats do have are extremely precious to them. Relics from their old homes are very common.

Communcation is difficult for this clan, but it is essential in the case of emergencies. The first leader of the clan had suffered greviously in the past when he failed to respond promptly to an emergency, and he will not let it happen again. When the clan moves to a new territory the scouts establish rock cairns in prominent locations on the hills and any vantage point they can find. Two scouts are responsible for staying with the cairns at any time. They look for any sign of danger, and when any is found, one cat is sent to alert the other cairns while the other marks the signal. Brightly colored plants and dyed are spread across the surface of the rocks to signal what emergency has occured - orange for a predator or injured cat, blue for a food, red for fire, green for earthquakes - and when the emergency is resolved, wet moss is used to clean the stones. Warriors are asked to keep the cairns in sight or check in often to ensure they are not missing any important signals. This system tends to break down in the rain, on dark nights, or at long distances.

SwiftClan follows the warrior code. In the early days of its creation, SwiftClan followed StarClan; after Cradlegrave became leader, KEEPWRITINGHEREOHGOD

Medicine Cats: Because the clan tends to move about often, the medicine cats do not keep extensive herb stores. Instead, they only keep on hand the herbs they use often (such as cobwebs) and any herbs they are currently using to treat a member of the clan. Medicine cats spend more time learning the location of herbs in the neighboring area, so they can be fetched in times of emergencies, and testing the properties of new plants. Each medicine cat is trained how to carefully check the healing properties of new plants but they prefer to consult with neighboring medicine cats before sampling anything. Medicine cats try to have a strong relationship with the healers of the other clans and groups when possible: they've been known to ask other medicine cats for herbs to treat certain injuries and in return will leave the other clan all of the herbs stores they've gathered when it comes time to move to a new camp.

Warriors: These are traditional clan warriors with the exception they are taught self-defense and tricks on escaping and evading predators instead of military fighting. The clan's lifestyle cannot support large numbers of warriors so they are often at a numbers disadvantage compared to the other clans and cannot win a war. They prepare for fighting predators instead.

Scouts: SwiftClan's scouts are typically peaceful, diplomatic cats. They have a variety of jobs within the clan instead of the traditional hunting role. When the clan moves to a new camp, a group of scouts is send ahead to check the land and take note of good camp locations, how well the prey runs, and the location of predators. They are trained to be observant and keen trackers for this purpose. Once the clan is settled, they serve as an emergency alert system (see traditions section). The scouts were established in part to provide a job to cats with crippling injuries that prevent them from being effective warriors: it doesn't take speed or agility to signal the clan or survey an area, but they are an essential part of clan life.

Clan History
FOUNDING
SwiftClan was added to Classic on January 30, 2020.
After a sickness and flood destroyed his old clan, WaterClan, Chimerastar sought out to live on his own. His family went with him and a few other cats joined them until a small clan was forming around them. He reluctantly reclaimed his position as leader and named the clan SwiftClan, after his fallen father Lightningswift.
The clan was unstructured and cats joined and left as they felt the need, sometimes without meeting the leader at all. They lived in WaterClan's old territory, but it was destroyed and unable to support them, so they left. They traveled the near the Mountain Clans, starving for prey, and feasted with FallClan/DayClan, SpringClan/SummerClan, and the Renegade Regime, even receving a single piece of prey from WinterClan.
They decided to move homes again.
While feasting with Renegade Regime, several cats in the clan were poisoned and Chimerastar himself lost another life. They decided to take a break from feasting then and Chim started to mistrust the other clans. At the same time, the medicine cat Firetooth helped curse, expose, and indirectly helped kill the Sun God. In revenge, SunClan raided the camp to steal their kits and SwiftClan was badly defeated. From then on, the clan decided to become nomadic and keep moving their camp every few moons. The scouts were established during this time as well (9/3/2020).
In memory of the lost survival clans, Chimerastar also added a new rule to the warrior code. Gathering 9/28/2020
Cradlegrave added the rank of Counselor. April 10, 2021
